Decisions Made in FEED Determine 80% of Your Security Posture at Handover
By the time your project reaches detailed design, the major architectural decisions that determine your security posture are already made. Network topology, remote access paths, vendor interfaces, safety system boundaries — these are FEED-phase decisions. Influencing them costs almost nothing at FEED. Correcting them after commissioning costs orders of magnitude more, and sometimes cannot be done without a shutdown. NEXUS embeds security into your project from the earliest phase — because that is where it matters most.
We work alongside your project team as a named security resource — reviewing designs, challenging assumptions, advising on procurement specifications, and providing assurance that what gets built matches what was intended.
What We Do Across the Lifecycle
- FEED Phase — Identify cybersecurity requirements early. Influence architecture decisions before they become expensive to change.
- Detailed Design — Review network architecture, P&IDs for cyber risk, and system specifications against IEC 62443 requirements.
- Procurement — Develop cybersecurity requirements for vendor specifications. Review vendor responses and factory acceptance test criteria.
- Commissioning — Verify that implemented systems match approved design. Identify deviations and ensure they are resolved before handover.
- Handover & Closeout — Produce a security baseline document for the operational team. Ensure all outstanding security items are closed or formally risk-accepted.
